Welcome to Strack Farms Restaurant
It was 1845 when Herman Strack and his four brothers arrived from Germany. Herman bought 1,200 acres for $1.00 an acre between Stuebner-Airline Rd. and Kuykendahl on Louetta Rd. on which to settle. He raised a family, farmed, and eventually passed on great-grandchildren who believe in hard work and family support.
The old timers of north Houston remember the vegetable farm on Louetta Road. It used to be a place where mama would buy a bag of homegrown tomatoes or sweet corn fresh from the garden, while Dad could step into the family owned country store/restaurant for a cold beer and one of the best Bar-B-Q sandwiches for miles around.
Since then, metropolitan Houston has reached out its urban fingers to force Strack's to quit farming and put their energies into a 300 seat family restaurant. Carry-Out service is offered along with catering and banquet rooms. Strackfest, a wedding reception and banquet facility, has been added behind the restaurant with seating for up to 300 persons and plenty of parking.
Three generations of the Strack family own and manage these operations and hope to continue to meet the needs of the changing community now and in the future.
